Creating a page template allows you to define the layout and required portlets for pages.
To define a page template:
To add required portlets for pages, click Add Portlets.
Note: If you add portlets to page templates that are already
used by communities, those portlets will automatically be added to the
associated communities.
In the Add Portlets dialog box, navigate to the
folder that contains the portlets you want to add, select the portlets,
and click Finish.
Tip: To search for a portlet, type text in the Search
box and click .
To select a layout for the page template, click
Select
Page Layout.
In the Choose Layout dialog box, click the button
next to the layout you want and click Finish.
Note: Narrow portlets can display in either narrow or wide columns
in your portal, but wide portlets can display only in the wide columns.
Optionally, to define page template properties and names, under Standard Settings, click Properties and Names. To learn more, click here.
To save the page template object, open the Save Object Dialog box by clicking Finish.
